It was a good place to stop and grab comfort food. Very good burgers but if they mess up your order they just pick things off of it like we ordered a philly with no peppers and onions and she was still picking out peppers and onions.

There isn't anything outstanding about Golden Basket, however, I honestly cannot say anything bad about it. I come here with my kids ALOT and we are never disappointed. Low prices and lots of food. This is a great place to go if you want a nice meal with your family. The staff is friendly, the atmosphere is pleasant and the food is acceptable. Typical diner fare but worth it, you get alot of for what you pay for. When I am strapped for time or just don't feel like cooking this is one of my top choices to bring my family.

Waitstaff is inexperienced, for the most part. Young kids trying to learn how to wait on tables with a few older folks giving direction, and not very patiently. I've eaten twice in the last month, and have ordered take-out twice. The broasted chicken is excellent. The food in general is very good. Clientele is mostly older people who appear to eat there frequently. The place is always busy. The parking lot is always full. The prices are easy on your wallet. Many dinners come with a dessert and soup/salad choice.

The owners are lovely people that recognize regulars. The Thursday special corned beef and cabbage soup is delicious, with a light vegetable broth and bits of lean corned beef. Yum

It's quite obvious they aren't keeping up with the times. Gigantic menus mean one thing, some items are good but most are absolute garbage. They are reasonable at breakfast, a few lunch options are decent, and forget about dinner altogether. If you order a simple breakfast such as eggs over-easy, meat, potatos, toast... you will probably be satisfied with the food, service, and price. However, every omelette I've ordered here was gross. So flat and dry it was obviously over-cooked on the flat-top not in a pan like it should be. The pancakes and french toast were nothing to write home about either. I'm regularly served under-cooked potatos which is extremely annoying. Tried their gyro meat & eggs breakfast so I didn't have to risk ordering an actual gyro I might not like, turns out it was a good decision. The meat was so dry I couldn't even swallow it once and it went right back onto my plate. The burgers are gross, fried appetizers are a frozen joke, salty soups that make you feel like you're eating it right out of the freezer/microwave, and the entire building is filled with almost nothing but senior citizens. Our nick-name for this place is the "Golden Casket". I'll swing thru here for a simple breakfast if I'm in the area but that's about all I'll order here Remove the biscuits and gravy from your menu. They are disgusting.

Siiiiiiighhhhhhhh.....I had expected so much more out of a breakfast joint! Nothing went terribly wrong, but nothing was exceptional. Sadly. We showed up on a Sunday morning around 10am and were pleased to find out there was not a wait. I told the host we had a party of 6, and he seated us at a table with 5 chairs, 4 menus, and 3 sets of silverware - then disappeared. No joke. Our waitress however was friendly and attentive. The food was lacking a little. Actually, it lacked a lot. The portions were tiny on some items, and massive with others. The pancakes had a cake-like consistency which kinda sucked. ((I prefer them light and airy - not thick and doughy.)) I ordered scrambled egg whites, which came out in a pool of oil - eww. My hash browns came out super crispy which I love, but I could have done without the freezer burn taste. I suppose you could say I didn't find the food to be up to par. I think I'll continue my search for a breakfast nook up in Green Bay and pass on the Golden Basket next time around.

Came here on a limb, ( I had a long wait getting my brakes fixed at Midas next door, and just showed up). I'm kinda surprised by the previous reviews, I thought this was a surprisingly good place. First, My service was excellent. Some of the best service I ever had. As for the food, I had the Taco skillet and a banana cream pie The Taco Skillet was very good,-Especially the taco meat- My only issue was the "American Home fries" that came with it. They were sliced potatoes with very little seasoning. The Banana cream pie was very good, it was made with fresh bananas. I really liked it.. The place was pretty busy at 1:30 on a wednesday. so I think thats a good sign as well.

My husband and family went to have breakfast and we were not disappointed. Gus and his mom go out of their way to treat us like family every time we are there. My husband ordered pancakes, eggs and sausage. His pancakes were huge and tasted great. My mother in law and I had French toast. They were light and delicious. My father in law had the Denver omelet. It was huge and great tasting as well. All in all we have never had a bad meal or bad serves.

I think I would rather eat out of a dumpster than to eat here again. Ordered soup, received generic chicken noodle out of a can. The burgers my wife and I received were so dry and gross tasting, we think they were ground up dog meat. The server never bothered to come back to the table and when I told the manager about the crappy food all he did is shrug his shoulders and said "oh"
